Dear Parents and Guardians,

The HMS students and staff have been busy exploring our community and engaging in activities that focus on giving back and supporting others. Check out the HMS NEWS for all of the latest updates and a glimpse into your children’s learning experiences!

October Rotary Students of the Month: Congratulations to Batul Aljawarin and Evey Merriam, October Rotary Students of the month! As a reminder, the HMS/Rotary student recognition program invites teachers to recommend one student from each grade level, and one Unified Arts student per grade level, to be recognized by the Rotary twice a year, from October through May. Student recognition is based on the effort/grit/perseverance demonstrated throughout the year. This a great fit with our work on growth mindset and taking risks with learning. Our heartfelt thanks to Sarah MacGillivray, and all members of the Rotary, for partnering with us to make this program possible.

Digital Curfews: You may find the article, Does Your Teen Have A Digital Curfew? useful in conversations with your child(ren). We welcome your thoughts about this topic!

Alpine Update: The Alpine team will be made up of 7th and 8th grade students this year. We made this decision in order to provide the best experience possible for our students, and ensure safe and manageable numbers on the team. To our 6th grade students, we thank you for your interest and look forward to seeing you on the slopes next year!

Lost and Found: We will be donating items in our Lost and Found to charity after November 9. Please help us to reunite your child with her/his belongings by putting their names on clothing, lunch boxes, etc. Please stop by our Lost and Found tables to see if you can find anything your child might be missing.
