- We are thrilled to share the information below, which names Barb Ellis as a recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST)!
This presidential award is presented annually to outstanding K-12 science and mathematics teachers from across the country. The winners are selected by a panel of distinguished scientists, mathematicians, and educators following an initial selection process done at the state level. Each year the award alternates between educators teaching kindergarten through 6th grade and those teaching 7th through 12th grades. Honorees are invited to Washington, DC, for an awards ceremony and several days of educational and celebratory events. Barb was recognized for her contributions to education last night at a ceremony at the Smithsonian.
This honor is a perfect representation and culmination of Barb's work with so many students over the years, and a true testament to her wide reaching impact.
Congratulations, Barb! We are thrilled for you an looking forward to hearing about your time in Washington!
