Dear Parents and Guardians-
The exciting events continue at HMS with the recent 7th grade/Red Cross Blood Drive, which included a focus on community service. Seventh grade students also showcased their inspiring Genius Hour projects this week. Our Jazz Band students provided an outstanding evening of music on Wednesday night, which kicked off of the spring concert season. We hope you are able to join us for upcoming culminating learning experiences/presentations. These include next week’s concerts, 5th grade Great American Night, and our 8th grade Civil Rights Museum. You can access all dates of events on the HMS calendar, which is located in the middle column of our new home page.
Just a quick reminder that all students who stay after school need to be in supervised settings. They can work in a classroom with a teacher, the library, or computer lab. We encourage students to attend supervised activities after school. We do not have supervision on our playgrounds after school hours. Students who have time to go home between the end of the school day and the start of their athletic practice should do so if they do not plan to attend a supervised setting after school.
We are pleased to announce our spring fundraiser, which will begin next week. We’ll send home information about this in a separate communication.
