Fifth Grade Students Visit With Friends At Bay Square

In the true spirit of reconnecting, our 5th grade students enjoyed a beautiful walk to Bay Square to see their friends! The residents waved and knocked on windows as the students walked around the building and handed them cards and a “You Are Special poster“ signed by all of the students. Kelly Conley, 5th grade teacher, shared the following, “Today, my heart smiled. The joy on the faces of our senior friends waving to us was just incredible. The residents wrapped gift bags for us filled with fun treats. It was awesome having our whole team walking outside together through the town placing kindness rocks....be on the lookout for them!” Thanks to our students and the Bay Square residents for participating in this special day and to Kelly Conley and the 5th grade team for creating this wonderful learning experience for our students!

Laura Mike Honored For Her Work On The Civil Rights Team

Laura Mike and HMS students on our annual Day of Welcome sponsored by the HMS Civil Rights Team

The HMS Civil Rights Team celebrated Laura Mike, former CRT Advisor, who started the team at our school, for her 20 years of focused devotion and commitment to this work! Students and staff read poems to honor Laura, and shared gratitude with her for her efforts over the years. Brandon Baldwin, Director for the Civil Rights Team Project (Office of the Attorney General) also spoke on Laura’s behalf. We are grateful for all Laura has done to grow our Civil Rights Team! Thanks to our student members of the CRT and current CRT advisors/HMS staff members Charlotte Agell and Stephanie Hill for creating this celebration for Laura.
