The Maine Principals’ Association (MPA) approved the start of high school Fall Sports beginning September 14, 2020. Participation and Competition Guidelines were created by the MPA that align with guidelines from the Maine CDC, Maine Department of Economic and Community Development, Department of Health and Human Services, Maine Department of Education, and the Governor’s Office. Yarmouth Athletics is providing YHS students the opportunity to participate in Fall Sports programs that follow those guidelines. Yarmouth Athletics has been developing a Fall Sports Season Model at the Middle School level that aligns with the same guidelines followed by our High School athletic programs. This Fall Sports Season Model will support the academic protocols and guidelines that are in place at Harrison Middle School. We are challenged with resources and personnel to support Fall Sports and welcome adults who are interested in providing additional support and/or supervision for these activities. Our potential Fall Sports Model will consist of the following sports and grade levels: Coed Cross Country - grades 6, 7, & 8 Field Hockey - Grades 6, 7 & 8 Football - Grades 7 & 8 Boys’ Soccer - Grades 7 & 8 Girls’ Soccer - Grades 7 & 8 Coed Tennis - Grades 6, 7, & 8
Note: For those interested in supporting one of these programs as a volunteer, practices will be held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 2:15 - 3:45 p.m. with a late bus available at 4:00 p.m. each day.
If you are interested in volunteering to support any of our Fall Sports Programs, please contact Athletic Director David Creech at 207-846-2329 or by email at email@example.com. An update on Fall Sports will be provided next week.
