We are proud to introduce our 2019-2020 HMS School Spelling Bee participants: Jack Janczuk, August Violette, Oliver Brown, Emma Shannon, Chloe Cady, Eleanor Weyenberg, Lexi Clark, and Violet Bailey. These students demonstrated their spelling skills and their grit during the Bee. Eleanor and Oliver, both 5th graders, will represent HMS at the Cumberland County Spelling Bee on Monday, February 10th:
HMS Birders took an exciting trip to Royal River Park where they saw geese and ducks, including a Common Goldeneye! Thanks to Merry Stuhr and Tracy Weinrich for giving our students this opportunity:
Congratulations to our 5th and 6th grade math teams for their stellar work at the recent meet! The 5th grade students earned first place and the 6th grade students earned third place. All students demonstrated their ability to collaborate and persevere. Thanks to our coaches Mr. Gross and Mr. Harrington! Well done, all! Mrs. Greely and Ms. Shaw’s students visited with their friends at Bay Square. They brought the residents handmade New Year's cards, talked about resolutions, and learned how the seniors celebrated the holidays during their school years. Our students also shared their work on math puzzles, which they completed with their friends:

Renovation Update
A reminder that the path from West Elm Street to YES/HMS will be closed as early as February 1 due to the renovation. We are talking with our students about this to make sure they are aware of the change. Please take some time to review this information at home if your child(ren) use this path.
