Congratulations to HMS students, students K-4 and 9-12, and families and community members for making this year's March for The Ocean a successful, fun, educational, community building event!

Special appreciation and recognition to Merry Stuhr, Tracy Weinrich, Nancy Castonia and their team for everything they did to plan and implement this essential community experience. Thanks also to Merry for sharing the following information, and to Jack Weinrich for the photo of the marchers:

Approximately 175 people gathered on Cousins Island on Saturday, June 8, to celebrate World Oceans Day at our second YM4O! It was wonderful to see so many students from YHS and HMS who stepped forward to volunteer and set up displays in support of the work that we need to accomplish to keep our oceans clean. One huge learning from this year's march is how harmful balloons are to our oceans. This was a huge "a-ha" for students and families who are committed to sharing this learning with others and celebrating without balloons!

The list of people to thank is long, but the following HMS staff members and parents just have to be mentioned! Our HUGE thanks to: Janice Medenica, Mike Hagerty, Karen Jagolinzer, Kellie McMahon, Frank Grondin (and Handy’s), Eric Weinrich, Kerry and Jason Weinrich, Karen Barstow, Meg Swift, Cindy Hagerty and Payson Oberg-Higgins.
