Southern Maine Math League
The Southern Maine Math League is an opportunity for teams of students in grades 5-8 to compete mathematically. Up to 30 teams from schools at each grade level from around southern Maine generally attend these meets throughout the school year. Individual students are recognized for high scores, and the top-scoring teams receive awards as well.
Description:
The focus of the HMS Math Team is on fun, games, and learning new concepts in mathematics. The team competes in meets during the year. Students who attend practice are eligible to go to the meets and compete with other schools in southern Maine.
Who May Participate:
Enrollment is open to any motivated student who enjoys working on and solving challenging mathematics problems.
