Dear YHS Families,

There seems to be some strange coincidence that my recent parent notes are precipitated by bitterly cold weather.  Whether it be the Ides of March, some sort of March Madness, or just the fact that March is still a winter month in Maine, I’d like to share a few updates of events in the weeks ahead.

Support for Parents Dealing with COVID

Parenting, no easy task, can be even more difficult when dealing with the challenges of COVID. This webinar support series from Stanford Medicine Positive Parenting During Covid-19  provides several resources and strategies to support families.

Crisis Drills

This spring, the Yarmouth Police Department will assist our staff by reviewing our safety procedures and checking classrooms as we conduct emergency drills at the high school.    Please feel free to reach out to school administration if you have any questions or concerns.

End of the Third Quarter

The third quarter ends in three weeks on Friday, April 3.  Teachers have recently updated grades, and will be reaching out to families if students are struggling.  Every Thursday and Friday during period 3, students have the chance to work with teachers during “Clipper Catch Up” time, and we encourage students to take advantage of this opportunity for additional help and academic support.

Respectfully,

Eric Klein, Amy Bongard, & David Creech - YHS Administrative Team
